Hurricane Maria, a category 5, was the worst hurricane to pass through Puerto Rico in a century. It destroyed houses, cars, buildings; trees where flying like feathers in the wind, and in around 36 hours, the island was in its worst shape in decades. After experiencing this event, my family and I decided that basic measures weren't enough and we needed to take it a step further. Here is my check list for emergency cases, hope you find it useful.

Prescription medications (a week supply at least)

Canned goods (canned chicken, tuna, vienna sausages, pasta, beef, etc.) (at least 6 of each)

Lanterns (look into solar lanterns as an alternative)

Power Banks (solar power banks are a good option)

*Power Generator /Inverter (never a bad idea to invest in this item if you live in a susceptible area)

Bag with 2 changes of clothes for every house member
